Tropical Storm Fiona nearing Hurricane strength, hurricane watches in effect for Puerto Rico

The National Hurricane Center is expecting an intense tropical storm to impact Puerto Rico starting today into the overnight hours. This storm has intensified overnight and could possibly reach Hurricane strength by the time it hits PR.

The Cone above shows the projected timing of this system and its impacts the island. Puerto Rico is expected to receive 5-10 inches of rain but up to 16 inches possible in southern PR per the NHC.
